I visited 2nd time to eat Japanese cuisine. New management, renovated and very kind staff can make me happy. The food was amazing, and please ask the owner to make something special for you. Strongly recommend this restaurant.
We moved to the area recently and were looking for our new go to sushi place. Thank goodness we found this AMAZING restaurant!!! The BEST sushi and most wonderful service. We felt right at home. Everything is so yummy! We’ve already been twice and look forward to our next visit.
It’s so good! The food was super delicious and fast, the tempura ramen is amazing comes with a bowl of tempura. We loved the food and people, it’s a family friendly and family owned restaurant DELICIOUSsss!
I’ve dined in and ordered take out for my usual tempura yam & chicken rolls, sunomono salad and miso soup, all of which tasted AMAZING and clearly made fresh. Both times service was prompt and polite even during peak hours. Prices are reasonable, atmosphere is cute and welcoming. So glad I live nearby, we’ll definitely be back!
Cozy restaurant with AMAZING food! We tried a variety of sashimi and sushi rolls which were all very tasty and fresh. The standouts were the Prawn Tempura and Black Dragon Roll. Washing it all down with an Asahi was *chefs kiss*. This restaurant is a gem in Nanaimo and we will be returning whenever we are in the area!
Excellent meal. Great service. I had the vegetable combo and let me tell you... I was so happy. I love veggie maki and many restaurants only have 1-2 choices. There were more options here and I thoroughly enjoyed mine. The miso soup was delicious. The green tea was genmaicha, which is hard to come by. This also made me very happy. My husband absolutely loved the samurai roll. He ate so much food (and we took a bunch home for later) that he had to take a nap afterwards. We're only visiting but I'm hoping to make it to this restaurant for one more meal before we leave. Friendly staff as well.
Maybe we just lucked out but we had the most amazing avocado roll. The avocado was perfectly ripe, not brown and so big. I barely got the phone out for a picture before my daughter had them eaten. I wonder if next time will be so perfect. This was at the South Nanaimo location. We also got the ramen noodles. Not bad at all and no MSG, which is so rare.
We drove pass this area a few months ago and found this hidden gem Nice little Japanese restaurant, great food and friendly staff. Love their variety of sets and combos, very generous portions with reasonable prices, and delicious too, especially their sashimi/sushi sets. Since then, we always stop by and enjoy their food before heading to our next stop. It becomes one of our must visit places whenever we go on a road trip to Parksville/ Tofino
